The next cake was designed to celebrate my niece’s 3rd birthday, Layla.
Ice Cream Cone sugar cookies.
And Cake Balls of course. I made them look like sundaes also with their icing on top and dripping to the sides. The sprinkles finished the lovely treats.
This is a look of the party table. Amy did a wonderful job setting it up as always.
A final look of the cake.
Happy Birthday pretty girl!!
Communion Treats
First Communions and Confirmations are happening now everywhere and that is always a very happy occasion to celebrate. I was glad to prepare treats for a few people from my church, St. Francis of Assisi. Here are some of them.
The follwing cupcakes are for a little girl that is not too much into ‘cake’, but she was more than happy to try my Red Velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
The cupcakes are topped with a small white chocolate lavander & white cross.
We also prepared a platter of cake balls in White/Caramel cake with Dulce de Leche buttercream mixed. Some of the were covered in chocolate and some with a sugar glaze.
More first communion treats are coming…
There are people who don’t want to have cake in their celebrations. For them, I have many other options that can still make the event a day to remember.
Cake Balls are a yummy combination of cake and buttercream later dipped in chocolate and decorated to your needs. The cake balls shown are red velvet cake and chocolate cake.
Cookie Cakes are simply giant (and delicious) chocolate chip cookie that can be decorated with buttercream to whatever your heart desires. I make them either round or in heart shapes. Here the one I created for Laxmi’s birthday.
So if you don’t like cake or simply want to have something different at your party, think of a Cookie Cake. They are wonderful!
I had the pleasure of handing out the treats to Laxmi and she was very happy, that makes me happy!
