Doc McStuffins
I worked on the following cookies for my cousin in Illinois. As they celebrated her daughter’s 2nd birthday she requested cookies to hand out as Thank You favors to guests at the party.
This was a fun cookie set to make. Happy birthday Noelia!!
Because working on my blog takes so much of my time, I haven’t been posting my work lately. The fastest way for me to post my latest work is on Pinterest, Facebook and my new favorite Instagram. Check it out and join me!
I’ll be back with some details about these cookies.
Here is a quick look of the latest Transformer cookies I made.
A closeup of the cookie set.
Bumblebee
Optimus Prime
A final look of the cookies.
The cookie favors were designed for a birthday boy who loves Transformers.
You can find more Transformer cookies here. I will work on adding a few details of these cookies in the near future.
Spiderman Sugar Cookies
For all the superhero fans of Spiderman.
I may not like Green Lantern too much (hope my husband doesn’t read this!). I am also not a big fan of Superman either (oh gosh, I really hope he does NOT read this), but I don’t want to go into that. Spiderman is ok, I enjoy his movies.
I had the opportunity again to make Spiderman cookies. My son Noah was very excited to see that I was working on them. He suddenly asked me if I was going to make the “evil one”, he said, “the one with the pointy teeth”. I pondered for a moment and then realized that he was talking about the evil character that appears on the 3rd Spiderman movie. I kissed my son for the wonderful idea!!!
The Black Spiderman sugar cookie was born.
Besides the Spiderman cookies, I made some spider web cookies with a huge red spider that I think looks like the iconic arachnid from the comics. The eyes of the Spiderman cookies and the big red spiders were brushed with luster dust to give them shine.
I did make one of the black spiderman cookies with the sharp and point looking teeth. It was too scary for a 4 year old, so I decided to keep it. Noah didn’t even want to eat!
Here’s a final look of the cookies. I hope you liked them.
Lalaloopsy Cookies
Three new Lalaloopsy sugar cookies!!
The new Lalaloopsy sugar cookies are, Alice in Lalaloopsyland, Sunny Side Up and Cinder Slippers.
Alice in Lalaloopsyland
A fair skin Lalaloopsy doll with a big curiosity to know about everything. She wears her long blond hair in pigtails and ties them with black ribbons. Although you don’t see it here, her pet is a little white bunny.
Sunny Side Up.
Sunny is a lovely full size doll that works at the farm taking care of her animals. A pretty fuchsia bow holds her adorable bright orange hair and uneven strands of curly hair. She is one cute tomboy that would make any girl fall in love with her.
Cinder Slippers
Yes! This adorable doll was inspired by the Cinderella story. Cinder is a fair skinned doll with soft pink cheeks. I love how she wears her blond hair up in a ponytail and uses a light pink bow. Her black eyes really stand out against her light and fair colors.
One last view of the three new dolls. My goal should be to make the full size body Lalaloopsy and/or their pets uh?
I think they are adorable! I am so glad I had the opportunity of working on three more dolls to add to my collection of Lalaloopsy sugar cookies. You can see more of them here and here.
Thank you for visiting the site. Have One Sweet Treat today.
Lalaloopsy Sugar Cookies
I’m excited to bring you again the Lalaloopsy Dolls… in cookies.
I have made Lalaloopsy cookies several times now. You can check more cookies faces here and some assorted cookies that I baked for my niece here. This time I got the opportunity of making a new character, Dot Starlight.
Crumbs Sugar Cookie, my favorite!!! Of course…
Pillow Featherbed.
Dot Starlight
Dot was my latest addition to this Lalaloopsy sugar cookie collection. She is cute!
Mittens Fluff ‘N’ Stuff.
Before you start asking questions (to yourself or me), allow me to clarify. Whenever I see Mittens, her skin seems a little bit darker than the usual Lalaloopsy. I made a mistake, I admit it. I ended up using Dot’s icing color to cover some of Mitten’s cookies. It was way too dark for her, but I realized that too late. I still think she looks cute though, but if I have the opportunity to make them again I will make adjust the color.
Would you like to guess what is the hardest thing to do with these Lalaloopsy dolls cookies? The hair!!!I will explain later.
Anyway, did you like them? I always enjoy working on them.
Thanks for stoping by to check One Sweet Treat!
Lalaloopsy Cookies – Faces
Lalaloopsy here, Lalaloopsy there, Lalaloopsy everywhere!!!
These popular magical rag dolls are everywhere!! How can they not be when they are so adorable. If I where only a few years younger (maybe more than a few) I would love to own some of them. I would play with them all day long.
I have a six year old girl that for some unusual (crazy) reason, is not very fond of them. She owns some of the little dolls and some big ones. I even bought her Forest Evergreen (the Lalaloopsy boy) to see if I could convince her to like them, but nothing. So I guess for now in my household, I’m alone with my love for these so cute dolls.
Since I can’t play with them (maybe I can, but I won’t – that’d be weird, right?) I make cookies instead.
I wanted to make cookies different from the ones I’ve made in the past. Choosing which Lalaloopsy dolls to make is the dilemma. They all are so adorable! I visited their site (for the 100th time) and decided to go with the following rag dolls.
Bee Spells-a-Lot. The gorgeous soft orange hair and pretty blue eyes. This is one very smart cookie.
Crumbs Sugar Cookie. This is the classic cookie, you know… the one cookie that I would “have” to make. “Sugar Cookie”… get it? I love her.
Jewel Sparkles. The little princess of the collection. Always dressy, always graceful. A little bossy, but that’s ok because she’s a princess.
And here are the three cookies of this set. One thing I should mention is that I don’t own a cookie cutter for the dolls. I have to cut the cookie dough for each one of cookies. It is a very time consuming process, but I have fun.
I hope to have the opportunity again to create some different Lalaloopsy cookies again. I have been wanting to create one of the boys such as Patch Treasurechest or Ace Fender Bender. I think I see them in a near future…
Cookies for MOPS
All that social media is … well, too much. It’s so hard to keep up. Post here, show there, update that. I need time and your patience.
This is another one of those posts where I will be showing you pictures of Sweet Treats that we have created and later on the stories behind them. At least you get to see the pictures…. It will be done, promise.
So with that, and an apology to all of you for posting this with very few words we’ll get started.

More about this event later.
Dr. Seuss Cookies
First of all, Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas/Holidays and a fun New Year celebration. I still have have to get used to writing and typing 2013.
The first One Sweet Treat of 2013 will be…
The famous Dr. Seuss.
No. I will not even attempt to make a rhyme. My 6 year old daughter is much better at this than me. I’m ashamed to say that even my 4 year old son can rhyme! Sad uh?
Just because I don’t know how to rhyme doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy Dr. Seuss books. What’s not to love about Dr. Seuss. The stories, the rhymes, the characters. The colorful pictures and the artistic sketchy and very particular lines are all simply wonderful cookie inspiration for a cookies like me.
Well, Dr. Seuss is perfect for any children events. In this case, the following cookies were designed for a baby shower.
First we have Thing1 & Thing2. I loved the side by side design.
Next we have another popular drawing (s). We actually have this particular book in the house. It really came in handy when drawing the lines on the fish.
One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish….
I cannot make Dr. Seuss themed cookies without making the only and only Cat in the Hat right? Here we have the mischievous cat and the very distinctive and recognizable red and white hat.
Although the cookies were wrapped individually for cookie favors, I decided to gather all of them and show you a colorful patter of cookies
Just a final look of these Dr. Seuss cookies in a collage.
This is in fact my second set of Dr. Seuss cookies I make. You can see the first set that we (my mom and I) made a few years back. Click here for the Cat in the Hat cookie set from 2011.
What do you think? Good theme to start off the new year uh?
Spongebob Square Pants
There is this very good friend of mine, Lorena. One of those friends… that you really can’t live without.
It is really funny, but Lorena and I are from the same home town of Juarez, MX and lived very close to each other. We also went to the same high school and college. We even ended up working for the same company in Des Moines after graduating from UTEP. You know what the funny thing was? We never knew each other until we were here in Iowa!
The next treat is for Lorena’s daughter, Mariana. She just turned 5 years old and her birthday party was this past Saturday.
This is definitely the quickest (not the easiest) set of cookies I have ever done. I prepared the dough in the morning, baked them in the afternoon and started decorating them in the evening. I never do this for many reasons, but I had to because I couldn’t say no to my dear friend.
It was a long night for me. I also had to wake up really early in the morning to finish the face details. Thanks goodness for my music.
As a cookie decorator, one of the hardest things to do is EYES. I fear them and they are my nemesis. The eyes is one of those details that can be the big difference between a cookie that makes you say WOW or YIKES!
So here I go…
I had to make the cookies very “simple” and I wish I would have had more time to add more details (or be more careful with them). With more time, I would have made Patrick’s body into a star and add legs to Spongebob. I wish I could have worked on a pineapple also.
I made Patrick the silly starfish.
Spongebob Square Pants obviously.
I also made a few flowers and presentation cookies (the Happy Birthday cookies).
It was a fun set of cookies to make and I loved how colorful they were.
I wish I would have taken a picture of Lorena’s party table. She really did a great job with all the Spongebob decorations.
Happy Birthday Mariana!
I can’t believe that I made this set of cakes and cookies a long time ago and never posted it. Better late than never….
I have been making more and more tiered cakes for birthday celebrations. Tall cakes are not just for weddings. Cakes with several levels or tiers are becoming more popular, at least with me.
I had a previous customer requesting a tiered cake to celebrate her son’s 1st birthday. Here’s a couple of designs that she liked. I do welcome other cake decorator’s designs *.
With those designs in mind, I created the following cake.
The cake is covered and decorated in fondant. My client is a fan of chocolate delight cake with raspberry filling so the those were the flavors of the entire cake. The cake topper is a cookie and it features baby Cookie Monster. This cake is very popular in my Pinterest site.
Here are some of the other cookies that we made for the the birthday boy.
The cookies are sugar cookies covered with royal icing and the baby sesame street are made out of chocolate.
Whether it is two or more levels/tiers, consider a tiered cake for your next event or celebration. Tall cakes are eye catching and will make your celebration one to remember.
* Pictures of other cakes are always welcome by the way. I will not replicate the cake (because I wouldn’t want other cake decorator doing the same to me) but I will definitely take some of the design ideas and incorporate them into your own cake.
