Think Pinkalicious!

This is as Pink as it gets! Do you know who Pinkalicious is? Honestly, I didn’t… and I have a 4 year old girl who absolutely loves pink. So I got to meet this pink princess with this next cake.

Meet Pinkalicious, a little princess girl in love with the colr pink and cupcakes.

Even though Pinkalicious loves cupcakes, my client didn’t ask for them. She wanted a cake with anything that had to do with this little pink girl. I couldn’t incorporate all the items onto the cake, so I decided to have only some of the important elements of her.

Here’s the cake for a little girl turning 4 years old.

Pinkalicious Cake

Four stars because she is turning four. The fondant stars have a little non-edible sparkle in the center that make them prettier (I think). The “Pinkalicious” title has some glitter to it also, but you may not be able to see it.

The cake is covered in buttercream with a marbling effect in shades of hot pink and white colors.
We couldn’t forget to have cupcakes on each side and a crown in the center.

I loved this cake and my client was very please with it. What do you think?

Dorothy’s Ruby Shoes

Posted on October 27th, 2010 in Cakes

I’m not very familiar with the very famous The Wizard of Oz movie, but when I got a request for a cake where the main decoration would be something from The Wizard of Oz movie, I had to do some research. The shoes sounded like a  perfect idea and in some way I needed to incorporate the yellow road.

My husband Matt corrected me on me calling them “the shoes“. He told me that they were called “Dorothy’s Ruby Shoes” and that they take Dorothy to Emerald City. Ok….

The cake was a delicious White Caramel cake with Chocolate buttercream. It was also covered in buttercream and detailed with fondant circles.
