Halloween 2015
If you are not ready by now well… then go off to the store and load up with candy and costumes because Halloween is just around the corner.
So here I am posting the Halloween cookies I made a few weeks ago just in the nick of time. Happy Halloween everyone!!!
All the cookies were on the simple side. Let’s just say they were simple but cute.
Candy Corn.
I have a love/hate relationship with Candy Corn. I kind of like it, but not in huge quantities. When it comes to Halloween, I always have to make CC cookies. I love the one with the mustache….
Cupcakes.
I wanted to add more design to the wrappers and what better way to do it than with the spider webs. If you look closely, I also added some “dimension” to the layers of frosting.
Minnie Mouse.
A year or two ago I made a Halloween Minnie Mouse without a plan in mind. It wasn’t my favorite, but it has been very popular in other places such as Pinterest. Last year I baked the MM with intentions of making it better and I never finished it. I was not going to let it happen this year. I baked it (again without knowing what I would do with it) and since my husband loves zombies (crazy dude) I decided to turn her into a Zombie MM. Loved it!!
Pumpkins.
The same way I always make CC, I always make Pumpkins. I love playing with them, but unfortunately I didn’t have much time to put up a fancy cookie so I just added details in between the pumpkin separations (you may not be able to see it) just like I did with the cupcakes.
Candies & Spider Webs.
I forgot to take individual pictures of those two cookies, but you can see the in the last image. Again, simple cookies due to my lack of time.
Have a safe and happy Halloween. I look forward to spending another super cold evening around the neighborhood with my children hoping for the good candy to land in their Halloween bags.
Happy Halloween from a Dart Vader, a grown up Bumblebee and a Pink Lemonade Princess.
Christmas Cookies – 2014
Happy New Year!!!
Yeah, I know you might be tired of hearing that by now. I want to wish you a very prosperous.
No words (for now), just pictures. Pretty ones, I hope. Enjoy!
Well, like I tend to say… better late than never.
Those were my Christmas sugar cookies of 2014. I own a large number (very large number) of Christmas cookie cutters and it was very difficult to decide what to do this year. I certainly miss working on my cookie houses and Santa Claus designs, but I was so happy to finally incorporate baby Jesus into one design. After all, Christmas would be without him.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (or Holiday) and I truly wish you a very happy and healthy New Year.
Although I don’t believe in making New Year’s resolutions (long story that I don’t have time to write about), I really hope I can change the fact that I ‘neglect’ my blog. I hope this year I can show you more of my work, with more details and more… more of everything.
Let the fun for this New Year start…. Let the New Year’s baking of more Sweet Treats begin.
Fall Cookies -2014
Fall is one of my favorite seasons!
I was very excited to make again seasonal cookies to celebrate the arrival of this change in beautiful colors, smells and tastes.
Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins…. Pumpkins come in all different shapes and sizes. This year I decided to add a dark and deep color to the traditional pumpkin cookies that I make, a deep green.
The top cookies are huge at about 6″!!! They are also chocolate chip sugar cookies. They are some of my family’s favorite flavor.
I truly enjoy seeing the change of colors in the leaves. Greens, browns, reds and even purples in all shades. It always inspires me to try to recreate such beauty in a sugar cookie. Here’s my assorted set of fall leaves cookies. I made them last year, but this year just like the pumpkins, I added the deep green color to them.
I love this maple leaf. I wish I had a bigger one, but I don’t. Also, the cute acorns. I just realized I forgot to add the steam! Ooops….
Turkeys! I purchased this cookie cutter from Coppergifts and as always, it was giant!! When it finally comes out of the oven it’s huge!! What’s bigger, “giant” or “huge”? What I am trying to say is that the cookie expanded during the baking process and it got bigger than the cutter. That’s better.
Colorful, festive and sort of silly, here are my turkeys!
A long time ago I came across a clipart image and I was in love, full of inspiration and left me with plenty of ideas! It was the perfect opportunity for me to put those ideas into cookies. I really liked them.
And finally here’s a quick look at the entire set of Fall inspired cookies.
What was my favorite this year? The tree…., but my one favorite cookie is the one colorful leaf you see on the picture above. I simply love how the mix of colors blended.
The most difficult cookie to make? The tree…. just time consuming.
Thanks again for visiting my site. I hope you enjoyed looking at these cookies.
